Accessibility Statement
Effective: [publication date]
At Caron Communications, our work is about helping people get their message heard, and that starts with making sure everyone can use our own website. This statement explains our commitment to accessibility, what we're working toward, and how to reach us if something on the site doesn't work for you.
Our Commitment
Caron Communications, LLC is committed to making www.caroncommunications.com accessible and usable for as many people as possible, including people with disabilities and people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control or keyboard-only navigation.
Accessible communication matters to us and to the people our clients serve. Many of our clients, including school districts, cities and towns, and public safety agencies, communicate with the entire public, and we hold our own website to the same expectation.
Our Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), these guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, physical, speech, cognitive and neurological disabilities.
What We're Doing
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. As we build and update the site, we work to:
- Use clear headings and a logical page structure
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images
- Keep text readable, with sufficient color contrast
- Make links, buttons and forms clearly labeled and usable with a keyboard and screen reader
- Write in plain language
- Consider accessibility, such as captions, when we add video and other media
- Keep accessibility in mind as we add new pages, Insights articles and features
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not be fully accessible yet. For example:
- Third-party content and tools. The site is built on Wix, and some features, tools and content come from third parties. We don't fully control how accessible they are.
- Embedded media. Embedded videos, audio or social media posts may not always include captions, transcripts or audio descriptions.
- Documents and older content. Some PDFs, images of text, or older Insights articles may not fully meet the standard.
We work to fix limitations as we learn about them. If one affects you, please let us know, and we'll work to get you the information another way.
Report a Barrier or Request an Alternate Format
If you have trouble using any part of the site, or you'd like any of our content in a different format, including our Privacy Policy and other legal pages, please contact us. Alternate formats can include an accessible electronic file, large print, or having us walk you through the information by phone.
- Email: matt@caroncommunications.com, with the subject line "Accessibility"
- Phone: 860.800.2023
To help us respond, please include:
- The web address (URL) or name of the page
- A short description of the problem, or the content you need
- The format you'd prefer, if you're requesting alternate content
- The best way to reach you
We take every report seriously and aim to respond promptly. We'll work with you to provide the information you need in a format that works for you.
Ongoing Review
We review this statement as the site changes and update the effective date at the top of this page when we revise it. Your feedback helps us improve, so please tell us what works and what doesn't.
